WORK TO BE COMPLETED
Fellows in both programs will complete a week-long orientation and training event in August, along with quarterly competency-based trainings and academic mentorship provided by the RSPH admin team.
All fellows complete a competency-achievement plan to document their health district activities and projects, which are guided by these competencies:
- Data Analytics & Assessment
- Public Health Sciences
- Communications
- Community Partnership
- Policy Development & Program Planning
- Leadership & Systems Thinking
- Health Equity
All fellows must complete at least a: quality improvement/assurance or evaluation project; significant data analysis project; and oral or poster presentation.
Fellows will respond to emerging public health threats and needs of their districts, as assigned.
ROLLINS EPIDEMIOLOGY FELLOWSHIP
- Entry-level position, with no more than 3 years’ experience post-Master’s
- Fellows must have an MPH from a CEPH-accredited school or program of public health; Preferred in Epidemiology or similar degree program
- Fellows will gain experience in case investigations, surveillance and developing epidemiologic reports for their districts, with an emphasis on communications and community partnership.
OUTBREAK ANALYTICS FELLOWSHIP
- Fellows must have a least 1, but no more than with no more than 2, years’ experience post-Master’s
- Fellows can have a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or Health Informatics; Certificate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology or Modeling or similar coursework
- Fellows will gain experience in data modernization efforts and surveillance and outbreak analytics projects.
- Fellows will partake in additional training and coursework in infectious disease modeling.
